- 1918 - Everaldo Paes de Lima, better known as Vevé. He was one of Flamengo's great attacking players of the 1940s.
- 1951 - Fernando Viola. The Italian midfielder played for Juventus, Cagliari, Lazio, Bologna and Genoa. He died tragically in a road accident aged only 49.
- 1955 - Daniel Bertoni. Quality right-winger who starred for Argentina as they won the 78 World Cup, scoring the 3rd goal in the final. Clubs: Quilmes, Independiente, Sevilla, Fiorentina, Napoli, Udinese.
- 1962 - Bruno Bellone. Left-sided attacker or winger who scored the second goal as France beat Spain 2:0 to win Euro '84. Clubs: Cannes, Monaco, Montpellier.
- 1979 - Nicolas Anelka.
- 1990 - Joe Allen.
