The Greatest Georgian Footballers of all-time

No.1 Ramaz Shengelia

A Dinamo Tbilisi legend, during his 11 years at the club, Shengelia would prove to be a prolific goalscorer and a key player for the team. He helped the club win the Soviet football league in 1978 and was twice named as the Soviet Footballer of the Year, in 1978 and 1981. Shengelia also played a key role in Dinamo Tbilisi's successful run in the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup in the 1980/1981 season, when they beat East German outfit Carl Zeiss Jena 2:1 in the final. Even though Shengelia didn't score in the final, he was the top scorer in the competition with six goals.
