Born on May 25, 1953, in Chacabuco, Argentina, Daniel Passarella's love for football began at a tender age. As a young boy, he demonstrated exceptional talent and dedication to the sport, eventually earning a place in the youth system of River Plate, one of Argentina's most prestigious clubs. His determination and perseverance paid off when he made his professional debut for River Plate at the age of 18 in 1971.

Passarella's playing style was defined by his exceptional defensive skills, commanding presence, and ability to read the game.
