Soren Lerby is a retired Danish professional football player and coach who is widely regarded as one of the best midfielders of his generation. Born in Denmark on February 1, 1958, Lerby began his football career as a youth player at the famous Ajax academy, where he was part of the same team as future stars like Marco van Basten, Frank Rijkaard, and Ronald Koeman.
