Notts County Celebrity Fans and Famous Fans
If there's a set of supporters in the country that deserve respect then Notts County fans are right up there. Yes, they follow the oldest league club around and have a fine history, but since the 1970s rivals Forest have dominated the two-club city more than probably any other in the country. So, without wishing to sound disrespectful, youngsters growing up in the area have got to have a bit of character and something about them to pick Notts County over the easy option of Forest. But plenty do, and here's some of the famous ones...
Billy Ivory Fan
The award winning screenwriter was born in Southwell and is a big Magpies supporter. He's best known for his TV work such as Common as Muck, The Sins and A Thing Called Love, and feature films Made in Dagenham and The Closer You Get.
Hayley Turner Born-there Fan
The flat racing jockey was born in Nottingham and has been a Magpies supporter since an early age.
Saint Raymond Proper Fan
The singer-songwriter was born in nearby Bramcote and has supported Notts County since he was taken to Meadow Lane as a youngster. When he's not on tour he's a regular at the ground.
Jake Bugg Proper Fan
Indie singer/songwriter Jake Bugg was born in Clifton in the south of the city and has been an avid Notts County fan from a young age. Bugg has even sponsored the club's kits, appearing on the Magpie shirts in 2017 and for a number of seasons afterwards.
