  • 14th October 1961 - Romulus Gabor. Romanian striker who won the won Golden Ball at the 1981 World Youth Championships.
  • 14th October 1968 - Matt Le Tissier.
  • 14th October 1969 - Viktor Onopko. A fine defender back in the 1990s for Shakhtar Donetsk, Spartak Moscow and Real Oviedo. He was twice voted Russian Player if the Year and held the record for the most Russian caps (109) until 2015.
  • 14th October 1970 - Pär Zetterberg Stylish midfielder with Anderlecht in the 1990s but only 30 caps for Sweden after falling out with the national team coach, Tommy Söderberg.
  • 14th October 1973 - Fabián O'Neill. Attacking midfielder from Uruguay who we used to love watching for Cagliari in Serie A during the late 90s. Also played for Nacional, Juventus and Perugia.
