Gianluigi Buffon

Gianluigi Buffon is one of the greatest football goalkeepers of all time. Born on January 28, 1978, in Carrara, Italy, Buffon began his football career as a youth player with the Parma club. He quickly rose through the ranks and made his debut for the senior team at the age of 17.

Buffon's impressive performances for Parma quickly caught the attention of the Italian footballing world, and he was signed by Juventus in 2001 for a then-world record fee for a goalkeeper. In 2021, aged 43, Buffon would return to the place where it all began for him - Parma, and it wasn't long before he was setting another record Buffon became the first goalkeeper ever in men's football to keep 500 clean sheets on 5th February 2022, a phenomenal achievement!
