Andrea Carnevale


Andrea Carnevale is a former Italian professional footballer who played as a striker. He was born on 12th January 1961, in Monte San Biagio, Italy. Carnevale began his professional football career at Latina in 1978, before moving on to play for several top clubs in Italy over the course of the next 18 years.

Carnevale's best years as a professional came while playing for Napoli from 1986 to 1990. During his time at the club, he established himself as one of the top strikers in Serie A, forming partnerships with the likes of Diego Maradona and Careca, scoring 31 goals in 105 appearances for Napoli. He also played a key role in helping the team claim two Scudetti (in 1987 and 1990), the first time in the club's history it had claimed the Serie A title.

Carnevale also represented the Italian national team on several occasions. He made his debut for them in 1989 and went on to play a total of ten games for the Azzurri, scoring two goals.
