  • 7th January 1950 - Malcolm MacDonald. Legendary forward in the 1970s for Newcastle United and Arsenal. Nicknamed 'Supermac'.
  • 7th January 1955 - Graziano Bini. Cracking defender for Inter who wore the captain's armband at the San Siro for seven of his fourteen years there in the 1970s and 1980s.
  • 7th January 1969 - Marco Simone. Brilliant at times for Milan, but only four caps for Italy. He'd later go on to play in Ligue 1, with both Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco.
  • 7th January 1974 - Julen Guerrero. The two-footed attacking midfielder was fantastic to watch in the 90s at Athletic Bilbao.
  • 7th January 1987 - Davide Astori. Fine Italian centre-back who sadly passed away in 2018, aged only 31.
  • 7th January 1991 - Eden Hazard.
  • 7th January 1993 - Jan Oblak.

  • 7th January 1989 - Non-league Sutton Utd were FA Cup 3rd Round giantkillers, beating Coventry City 2:1. Only two years earlier the Sky Blues had won the Cup.
