  • 6th January 1939 - Valeriy Lobanovskyi - The Ukranian was one of the finest managers of the 1970s and 1980s, having long spells with the Soviet Union team and Dynamo Kyiv.
  • 6th January 1952 - Attilio Lombardo - The pacey right winger was one of the great iconic players of the 1990s, especially for his time at Sampdoria. He's also one of the few players to have won Serie A with 3 different teams: Samp, Juventus & Lazio.
  • 6th January 1953 - Manni Kaltz - Legendary right back of Hamburger SV & West Germany. His curving crosses were so good they were given their own name - “Bananenflanken”.
  • 6th January 1965 - Marco Branca - Italian striker who played for Cagliari, Udinese, Sampdoria, Fiorentina, Parma, Roma, Inter, Boro, Luzern and Monza.
  • 6th January 1969 - Ilie Dumitrescu - A great attacking force at Steaua in the 1990s and a part of that brilliant trio for Romania with Hagi and Raducioiu.
